You should see it for yourself. Just when you think that it's more efficient to take it slow, this Chinese Building Company proved that Prefabricated modular buildings have many advantages over conventional buildings. Savings on labor cost over cost of materials: where the Chinese are widely known for their labor force, now they're showing the world how it should be done pragmatically. I could describe their process of construction as "quickly but surely".
It is built only within a span of three hundred and sixty (360) hours. It is called the T30 Hotel Building which has a total of 17 thousand square meters of floor area. It could withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake and is uniquely five (5) times more energy efficient and twenty (20) times more purer air filtered on three stages. The building is located at China, Hunan Province near the Dongting Lake.
How could such a wonderful feat achieved? Must be the product of intense preparation and intense availability of prefabricated materials and tools. I have observed though that the prefabrication stage was not timed to include in the building construction proper. The electrical, plumbing, HVAC fixtures were already done or installed on the prefabrication stage. The steel beams, flooring and tiles were also done at the factory. So then the building as timed started with the concrete foundations piled underneath, and rushed on through by assembling the Y steel prefab posts, prefab beams, prefab flooring and utilities. Extra care with the 15cm glass curtain wall insulation and the 4-paned window with external solar shading and still with internal window insulation. What can I say? It really is the most wonderful feat to start the year of the dragon 2012.
